Margaret Rowlands

Margaret has more than twenty five years’ experience of working in the field of social care, gaining experience both as a social worker and as a manager. Margaret has worked within a multi-disciplinary community Mental Health team as the team leader. Margaret has also managed a residential hostel for People who have a Learning difficulty. Since 1999 Margaret has specialised in Shared Lives development across Merseyside, North Wales, Staffordshire and Stoke. Margaret has also specialised in policies and procedures development and standardisation, investigations and complaints and the involvement of people who use health and social care services. Margaret has worked across several Local Authorities as both a practitioner and at senior manager level and has also worked as a volunteer for a local charity for the past eighteen years. In recent years Margaret has held the position of Responsible Individual with Care Quality Commission England and Wales.

Teresa Connolly

Teresa has an NVQ 3 and 4 in Management and also has NVQ 2 in health and social care, Teresa also has an A1 Assessor award and is certified in concepts in counselling. Teresa is a fully trained and accredited Adult Placement Carer who holds membership with the National Association of Adult Placements (NAAPs).

Teresa has over fifteen years experience within a social care setting, ranging from supported living, as a support worker, a service co-ordinator, then progressing to Service Manager. As a Service Manager Teresa gained experience in developing new services within the community both on an organisational level and an individual level.

Teresa has wide and varied experience of working with People who have a learning difficulty and people who are experiencing problems with their mental health.

Teresa is also a volunteer worker with young adults who have a learning difficulty.
Teresa also has significant experience in;

Barbara Gelling

Is an experienced and qualified senior manager within the catering and hospitality industry.  Barbara has 30 years experience covering all areas of the hospitality sector.
Barbara has managed several establishments within the North West, posts varying from Sales and Marketing Manager to Hotel General Manager. Barbara is qualified in all areas of business and marketing and has undertaken extensive development over her 30 year.

Barbara has won an award for her astute business accruement within this sector and has also achieved first place in company league tables. Barbara has managed a centre of excellence which excelled in customer service, company compliance with external audits.

Barbara is certified in concepts of counselling and is also qualified in first aid and has up to date Health and safety and fire training.

Frank Sage

Frank has worked with vulnerable adults in 1992 after initially volunteering in a Day Centre within his local community. Frank has worked as support worker in a small group home for people with learning difficulties and has significant experience and knowledge, which is required to set up focus groups with both users and customers of services and their support networks.

Frank has managed adult services in Halton and Wirral for a number of years and has also been active in setting up new services in the Burnley/Lancashire areas.

Frank has experience and knowledge in the reviewing of services in Yorkshire, Manchester and Wales in his role as Training Manager.

Frank is experienced in delivering training to social care teams throughout the North West, including; Person Centered Planning processes, core induction standards and Technical Certificate Core Elements, leading to recognised National Qualifications in their chosen careers.

Frank has the following qualifications;

•    D32/33 health and Social Care Assessor NVQ. 1998/ Can deliver Health and Social care/ NVQ Standards to Level 2/Level 3 and Level 4
•    Registered Managers Award May 2004.
•    ELP Facilitator /Planning
•    MAP/Path Graphic Planning facilitator
•    Safeguarding adults.
•    Core Induction standards/ Communication/Health and Safety/Reflective practitioners/Safeguarding Adults ISA.


Marie Sage

Marie worked within a NHS GP Surgery for over ten years in the local community, giving her a clear understanding of Data protection procedures and the importance of adhering to guidance documents and guidelines.

Marie’s social care background began when working in a small group home as a support worker, supporting clients with Learning Difficulties and Mental Health needs.

Marie is experienced in all areas of social care. Marie first started work in a social care setting as a support worker and now currently manages a service in the Halton Area.

Marie has managed residential units, where clients lived in their own home. These client’s needs ranged from severe learning difficulties to severe autistic disorder. Marie developed an understanding of the effective implementation of Communication tools, whilst working with these client groups.

Marie has the following qualifications;

•    Level 2 & 3 Health and Social Care 2003
•    L20 Mentor Award/ 2002
•    A1/A2 NVQ Assessor  2004
•    Internal Verifier Award /2006
•    Registered Managers Award Level 4 2005
•    Health and Nutrition training facilitator.


Peter Irving

Peter has been a user of Health and Social care services on and off over the years.

Peter has agreed to be an advisor with Inclusion Plus Ltd. Peter feels he can offer advice to Inclusion Plus Ltd with reference to;

• Involvement and participation within the services people receive.
• Voluntary services.
• Educational needs.
• Shared lives.
• Community presence and independence, all from a user’s point of view.

Peter lives with two of his friends in a supported living/shared lives house. He enjoys days out to Wales and is a member of a local social club which meets on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Peter has a community partner called Mike; they have recently been to the races together and visited Manchester United Football ground, fulfilling some of Peter’s life long dreams.
Peter attends Roby College on a Friday morning and is completing an independent living course. Peter would eventually like to live independently


Leanne Mullen

Leanne is a newly qualified Social Worker; she has a strong understanding of the relevant up to date legislation currently underpinning the Social Care and Health sector.

Leanne achieved a 2.1 BA Hons Social Work Degree and she also has an Advanced National Diploma Health & Social Care. Leanne has over six years experience within social care settings which include supported living, community care work, and social work experience. Leanne’s social work training provided her with opportunities to carry out placements within Learning Disabilities, Homeless and Older People’s sectors which gave her extensive experience within these multi-faceted sectors.

As a Social work student, Leanne developed a wealth of knowledge relating to the care management process and service planning including;

  • Safeguarding
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Rehabilitation processes
  • Carer’s legislation

Leanne has experience of working with various service user groups including; older people, mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse, homeless, physical and sensory disabilities.

Leanne previously worked within the Finance sector at assistant management level and consistently excelled in sales throughout her time in this industry, often achieving employee of the month throughout the North West of England. Leanne has additional experience is in;

Stephen Evered

Stephen has worked in the care sector for the past 16 years after working in financial services.

Stephen is an experienced operational and strategic manager having held senior positions in voluntary, statutory and private care organisations. He has a wealth of knowledge gained both vocationally and academically in a wide range of care settings from children, learning disability, ASD, mental health, elderly and palliative. Stephen is a trained Support Broker and is experienced in Self Directed Support and Personalisation.

This has resulted in a breadth of knowledge in establishing, setting up, operating and closing down services. Stephen is very experienced in selection and recruitment, vetting and training of staff. He is also an experienced Registered Manager with various regulators and has a good working knowledge of procedures, policies and reporting.

Stephens’s strength is a good knowledge of the sector, a good understanding of service users needs and a persistence to ensure services are delivered correctly.
